Team: Great North Run for Sunday for Sammy – Celebrating 25 Years

Great North Run 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

Sunday for Sammy supports young performers, writers and creatives from the North East of England at the outset of their careers. We help with equipment, training, educational fees, mentoring etc.

Story

10 years ago I did a LOT of running then I fell out of a tree, broke my ankle and had various operations to fix it. So here we go again - 10 years on and it’s time for a challenge!

Sunday for Sammy is more than just a celebration of North East talent – it’s a lifeline for the next generation of performers. Set up in memory of actor Sammy Johnson, the charity funds training, mentoring, and opportunities for young people in the region to break into the performing arts. Every donation helps remove financial barriers, nurture local talent, and keep the North East’s creative spirit thriving. By supporting the JustGiving appeal, you’re not just giving money – you’re investing in dreams, creating chances, and ensuring Sammy’s legacy continues to inspire for years to come.

So to help raise money for this amazing charity I am running

- Great North Run

- Kingdom of Northumbria Ultra (54km) March ‘26

- The Allendale Challenge (26 miles) April ‘26

- Pilgrims Ultra (100 miles) September ‘26

Every penny you donate helps, but it’s a bit tight to just donate a penny so please round it up to a pound or a fiver.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
