Last November, we all got together to plan an adventure for the following year. As usual, we left it to Kathleen to organise, and she did not fail us, booking us on the trip of a lifetime, trekking to Machu Picchu, Peru.

We soon started our training, but in February this year, Kathleen was diagnosed with breast cancer. Not one to let something like Cancer stop her, Kath started her treatment at the breast unit at St Margret's Hospital.

Following a mastectomy and radiation, she got back on track and started smashing mountains in her training. This was not only due to her sheer determination (pigheadedness) and positive attitude, but mainly due to the outstanding treatment and support carried out by Mr Patel and the team at St Margaret's. We would like to show our appreciation by fundraising for the unit.

This money will help fund clinical trials and help them to continue the great work they carry out. The trials undertaken at the unit will inform and benefit units across the UK.
