Delivering ambulances and medical aid to Ukraine

Story

Like many around us, we’ve been profoundly moved by the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

That’s why we’ve decided to do something to support them and join the drive to Ukraine with Mighty Convoy, a not-for-profit organisation started in 2022 by one of our Manchester Uni friends, Simon Brake, who wanted to make a tangible difference.

Mighty Convoy’s mission is simple but powerful: to raise funds for and deliver second-hand ambulances, pick-up trucks, medical supplies and food aid directly to Ukraine, bringing injured military personnel and civilians back from the front lines.

So far, the Mighty Convoy community has made 25 journeys, and delivered 106 vehicles - every one driven by volunteers who pay their own travel costs.

Leaving on 23rd Sept 2026, a team of 8 selected university mates will be part of one of these convoys, driving 3 rescue vehicles the 2,000 km from London to Lviv, where they will immediately go into service through our local partners. To make this possible, we need to raise £21,000 - covering the cost of the vehicle, fuel, insurance and ferry passage.

The drivers are: Caroline Volk, David Walker, Val Parrott, David Williams, Suzanne Goddard, Nick Buckland, Tricia Cave and Simon Brake.

Please help us reach and even beat our target, and save lives in Ukraine.

Thank you
