Story

I am running the 2026 Saucony London 10K in aid of The National Brain Appeal.

On September 22nd 2023, our lives were turned upside down, when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour, within 2 weeks on October 5th I underwent a 7 1/2 hour operation to remove it. Luckily the amazing team at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery were able to completely remove it!

Since then I have had two further surgeries, one to repair a brain hernia and the other to fit a shunt to relieve pressure and help drain the fluid correctly.

It has now been over 2 years since I have been able to exercise or run again, but I am finally in a position where I am able to attempt to complete another event. I really would like to raise some money to help give something back to the hospital that took such great care of me.

The National Brain Appeal aims to transform the lives of the millions of people affected by neurological and neuromuscular conditions. It helps to drive advancement by funding pioneering research, innovative treatments and world-class facilities, over and above what the NHS can provide.

Your donation will help The National Brain Appeal to improve the outcome and quality of life for the millions of people affected by a neurological condition.
