We’re facing one of our biggest fears… and doing it for two incredible causes 💙

On 6th June 2026 at 11:30am, we’ll be abseiling down the maternity block at Heath Road Hospital—and you’re very welcome to come along and watch!

I’m fundraising because I see first-hand the difference these services make through my role as a Therapy Assistant Practitioner at Stow Lodge Centre in Stowmarket. I help run a gardening group for our patients, which supports their strength, balance, and mental wellbeing, giving them a real sense of purpose during recovery.

Although I’m fundraising, I’ve roped others into the challenge too! We’re raising money together for two incredible causes under the umbrella of Ipswich and Colchester Hospitals Charity—staff wellbeing/charitable funds (supporting groups like ours) and cancer support services.

This is also deeply personal. Ipswich Hospital has cared for me since I was born (I was a poorly baby and have had several operations since), and they’ve continued to support my family over the years—especially my dad through his cancer treatment and ongoing care.

So, we’re taking on an abseil down the maternity block 😳

That’s me, my nephew Harry, Baz, and Baz’s mum Janet. To be completely honest, Harry and I are absolutely terrified of heights—knees shaking, heart racing, questioning all our life choices kind of scared—so we’ll definitely be relying on Janet and Baz to somehow get us down in one piece!

We’re all fundraising together on one page to make it easier for our shared family and friends—so no pressure to donate multiple times. If you’re able to support us, any donation (big or small) would mean so much.

Thank you so much for your support as we face our fears for such an important cause 💙
