Story

Hi Guys,

I hope you all doing well, thanks so much for taking the time to check out my sponsor page. I'm sure many of you have already seen me mention on my socials or have heard from me directly that I will be running my first every Marathon in Jersey on the 1st of October 2023.

Its quite personal for me as I will be running it in honour of my late mother Agnes Camilli who was sadly taken away from us last year.

When my mum wasn't doing so well I made her a promise I would run this Marathon in her honour which made her very happy. Jersey is the place where her and my dad met many moons ago. I wouldn't say that running was ever at the top of my to-do list but since the start of the year I've fully embraced the journey and committed to the training, and its now become something that I can't do without. I love the serenity and peacefulness of my runs in the morning and I often think about mum whilst taking in the moment of mindfulness.

My mother was a beautiful person. She had so much love and kindness that she poured into her family and friends. She was incredibly generous, selflessness, and would do anything for her family especially her grandson Oscar who she cared for dearly.

I've chosen to raise funds for the Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow where my mum spent her final days in their amazing care, a place that provides comfort, care, and support to individuals and families facing terminal illness. Their mission resonates deeply with me because I witnessed first-hand the impact of such care during my mother's illness.

The Marie Curie Hospice is a sanctuary where patients receive not only top-notch medical care but also emotional support. They ensure that the final chapters of someone's life are filled with dignity, compassion, and love. By supporting them, we can help ensure that others receive the same level of care my mother did.

The Glasgow Marie Curie Hospice costs 22 million per year to operate of which they only receive 5 million in grants from the Government. The rest of the money needs to be made through fund-raising activities.

I humbly ask for your support on this journey. Your contributions, no matter how small or large, will make a significant difference. Together, we can ensure that the Marie Curie Hospice continues its vital work, providing comfort to families during their most challenging times.

How You Can Help:

Donate: Any amount you can spare will go directly to the Marie Curie Hospice and make a positive impact on the lives of those they serve.

Share: Please share this post with your friends, family, and on social media. Help me reach as many people as possible to support this cause.

Run With Me: If you're a fellow running enthusiast, consider joining me on this marathon journey. Probably to late for anyone else but thanks Scott Bennett for being my wingman!

I'll be sharing updates on my training progress and the marathon itself the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that. But most importantly, I'll be running with the memory of my amazing mother in my heart and with the knowledge that, together, we're making a difference in her honour.

Thank you all for your love, support, and generosity. Let's do something remarkable in Agnes Camilli's name and for all those who need the care and compassion of the Marie Curie Hospice.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Marco xxx
