I am organising Wave 2 of the 2025 Boxmoor Virtual Marathon to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee.

For the last two years, I have helped two very fortunate young people to organise the Boxmoor Virtual Marathon, to raise money so that they can undertake voluntary humanitarian and conservation work in Costa Rica this summer.

This year we had a number of medals left and rather than return them to be recycled, I thought I would use them to do good. The news about Gaza has been horrifying.

To take part in the marathon, simply donate what you want to this page. If you want to donate and not receive a medal, you can donate directly to the DEC. There are 50 medals available. These are printed on wood and were designed by my son.

You can complete your marathon by running, walking, cycling, swimming, wheeling or horseriding 42 kilometres over October and November 2025. Or you can undertake 42 hours of exercise, whichever is easiest for you.

The aim is to encourage people to start a healthy habit, or get active in any way while raising money for this cause. All movement is good movement. We are privileged that we can live our lives without fear.
