Story

My story

Ten years ago, I was matched with my second guide dog. A tiny little Labrador that I will always maintain was the dog I didn't know I needed. He and I have been through so many adventures in our partnership, and it broke my heart when I listened to my boy and made the call to hang up his guiding harness last year. Bertie hasn't only been my guide dog. Throughout the pandemic, he was my sole companion and saviour. He pulled me through the darkest times I have ever experienced. And I am eternally grateful to him for this. So, when the annual "make a Cuppa count" for guide Dogs came up again, I thought it was high tide, a year on from his retirement, I give this boy a party with friends and family and give something back to the charity that have given me two incredible guides.

If you can spare a little change, please consider donating to this great charity.

From the Charity

Every day 250 people in the UK start to lose their sight. When someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don't lose their freedom as well. Every cake and every cuppa will go towards helping them provide life-changing services for people with sight loss.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
