We are running this for Clara's mum, Stephanie Greensmith, Joseph’s grandma, Joan Wild...Stephanie was also one of Marie’s best friends and Joan her mother-in-law. Both supported Wakefield Hospice...Stephanie through fundraising, Joan through many years of volunteering. They are deeply missed, and we are sure they will be there in spirit, cheering us on along the route.

We are also running as part of a 25-strong team from Marie’s workplace, John Monaghan Ltd who all passionate supporters of Wakefield Hospice, helping them contine a legacy of care and community.

John Monaghan, the founder of John Monaghan Ltd, was a dad, a husband, a friend, a founder, and a gentleman. He spent time at Wakefield Hospice in its first year, and 2026 marks 35 years since his passing. His family and business continue his legacy, and this year sees the biggest team yet coming together to complete the 10K as family, friends, and colleagues, supporting a cause that has been close to their hearts for generations.

We are thrilled to be part of the team and can’t wait for the day...though Clara and Marie have absolutely no intention of trying to keep up with Joe!
