On retirement I wanted to do something meaningful and life-saving to aid people in Ukraine struggling since having been invaded in February 2022. I joined a group called Stockbridge Ukraine who have sent medical supplies, generators and much more, and then became involved with Pickups For Peace (P4P) who organise convoys of Pickups full of humanitarian aid on a regular basis.
With funds collected from Stockbridge Ukraine we bought a pickup from P4P and loaded it with medical supplies and other useful equipment, and I drove on the convoy to Ukraine with 37 other vehicles in August 2024 with Will Mellows, a great friend of mine.
The reception we received after having driven 1400 miles over 3 days inspired me to do it again on the following convoy in September. Having driven 2 of the 571 pickups delivered by P4P, Stockbridge Ukraine are trying hard to maintain the level of support we give and are trying to find funds for another vehicle. Money raised will: release extra money through gift aid, assist with the cost of the vehicle, fuel and accommodation, and will all go to this fantastic cause. It is estimated that each vehicle donated saves at least 6 lives.
Ukraine needs us all even more now as the world order changes. We hope you will be able to help us raise this money to give a life-saving vehicle providing casualty evacuation, movement of aid and equipment around the most dangerous areas of Ukraine to support these brave, exhausted and frightened people. Please donate as generously as you are able. Nothing will be wasted.
Thank you for reading.
