Story
I’m taking part in Men’s Walk on 7 March 2026 because my darling wife Rachel was admitted following the devastating news that she cannot have any more treatment for her secondary breast cancer. She passed away just a day later but the level of care and compassion was utterly astounding. One of the nurses even sat with her all night as she seemed to settle knowing someone was there. The Hospice is such a special place and looked after both Rachel's parents when they were end of life too. I know Rachel was in the safest hands and they kept her comfortable and safe.
I’m determined to stand by my local hospice, so that they can be there for others during one of life’s most difficult journeys. Every day matters and time is precious, so let’s make every mile count!
Hospiscare is a local charity, caring for terminally ill people and their families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Their teams of doctors and nurses offer free, expert palliative and end-of-life care in the community and at Searle House hospice in Exeter. Over the years, they’ve comforted and cared for thousands of people in our community, enabling them to live life to the fullest.
Men’s Walk is about more than a 7-mile walk; it’s about providing local people with a voice, with dignity, with care and compassion.
Something we’d all want.
So please, if you can, make a donation today and help make a difference!
