Story

UPDATE!! Take a look below if you have a moment

Ahead of my ultra in a couple of days, I just thought I’d give you an update on Eva and how she’s progressing.

It would be fair to say that this has been a rollercoaster that no parent would ever want to be on.

We arrived back on August 7th and Eva was taken straight to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. She has been in and out of ICU three times and we hope made her final move out of there on Sunday and onto a ward 🤞🏻.

The staff there have been nothing short of amazing.

Our princess has a long road of recovery and rehabilitation ahead. The strength and determination that little girl has shown is remarkable 👊🏻and we can definitely see signs that our Eva is there 😘! We keep moving and pushing so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and spare a little one for me too as I make my way round Lake Windermere on Saturday!

Thank you so much for all your support, it genuinely means the 🌎 to us all 🙏🏻 😊.

It’s simple. I’m running a 47 mile ultra marathon in September to raise money for Young Epilepsy. I’m currently sitting in a Spanish hospital next to my wonderful little girl who is in an induced coma. We don’t know how she will be when she hopefully wakes up.

I got the phone call that every parent dreads last Tuesday and was told she’d had many many seizures whilst drying off after having a dip in the sea on holiday. Her innocent enjoyment of what should have been a gorgeous day with her sister and mum shattered.

After being transferred from the local hospital by air ambulance to the area’s main hospital, she suffered many more seizures even under heavy sedation. I flew out the next day to sit by her side. She’s my inspiration every day and I’ve done many endurance events to raise money for Ronald McDonald House, Great Ormond Street and Cancer Research.

I prayed I wouldn’t have to see her like this again. Sadly that’s not the case.

I’m doing a lap of Windermere in September and was considering sacking it off because I am fat and far from being fit but Eva has forced me to do it.

Those of you that know Eva know that she is the most loving, friendly and mischievous cheese-loving madam in the world! You will also know that she has had so many life threatening illnesses and has bounced back larger than life! It’s time for that to happen again…

She has a big sister, Alice, who has been with her through thick and thin, has always been by her side and loves her to bits.

This little girl deserves a break and to be allowed to enjoy herself and get on with life.

If I can hobble round a 50 mile run then you can put your hands in your pockets and donate a few quid.

The picture is very very present and trust me, I could make it a whole lot worse.

Come on Eva! You’ve got this and we all love you so so much. Xxxxx

And when I say run…… 😊.
