Martha's fundraiser for The British Horse Society

Martha Allhusen is raising money for The British Horse Society

Charity Horse Race · 6 November 2025

Riders are taking the reins for a challenge of a lifetime — racing a mile at the prestigious Newbury and Wetherby racecourses! Support our jockeys as they raise funds to protect horses, keep riders safe and inspire more people to enjoy horses.

Story

On 06th November 2025, I will be taking part in the BHS amateur jockeys race at Newbury Racecourse. The race is over a mile on the flat at Newbury's opening meet of the jumps season.

I am so grateful to be given this incredible opportunity by the BHS, for which I will be raising money.

The BHS is a UK-based charity dedicated to the welfare, safety, and education of horses and riders. They campaign for road safety, tackling animal neglect, and offer advice and support for equestrians.

The BHS run a "changing lives through horses" programme, which is designed for those with additional needs, including special educational needs, neurodiversity, and those who have faced trauma or exclusion from traditional education. This programme enables the development of life skills, providing a unique opportunity for growth and learning through equine activities.

In preparation for the race, I will be riding out for a minimum of three days per week, as well as lots of training in the gym to make sure I will pass the fitness test!

I would be so grateful for donations of any amount and would love for everyone to be there on the day too!

Thank you so much,

Martha x
