Story
I'm taking part in the Yomp Mountain Challenge, raising funds for Dreamland Education Centre in Kimilili, western Kenya. I'm going to walk the 10km fell Yomp on 14th June. This is the Yomp's 40th year. I may get round twice!
For over 20 years this amazing school has been a place where children are given a chance to thrive, learn, to be fed, and to play in a safe environment. Through the education the children receive, they have a chance of going on to secondary school and then potentially college, university or learn a trade to be a plumber, motor mechanic, electrician, joiner or welder. This is just a dream for many kids in this part of Kenya.
The school needs to make some major improvements and refurbishment of its facilities in order to meet growing demand. They plan to repair the main playground (currently just beaten earth, which gets very muddy in the wet season), repair a water storage tank and build a bigger kitchen and dining room, ready for an increased intake of students following changes to the Kenyan education system.
By sponsoring me, you will help make these plans a reality! And, due to an amazing match funding offer, every £1 you give will be tripled!
