Story
On the 10th of August I will be raising money for Guide Dogs as a tribute to my very first Guide Dog Kean, that sadly passed away on this date in 2023. As I am registered deaf blind this will be a massive personal challenge, I will be completing this challenge with the support of my current Guide Dog Stuart and some of my close friends and family. As I also the coordinator of the Doncaster fundraising group every year I set myself a personal challenge and this year this is a very special challenge close to my heart and the toughest so far.
Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives.
Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.
