Story
On September 13th 2026, i will be running The Great North Run with my sister, Elizabeth, brother Joseph and husband Tomás.
Why...?
I have always wanted to do the GNR since being a student in Newcastle.
Having never run before, I did couch to 5k before I turned 50. So I decided that I have to do the GNR before I’m 60….. still a few years to get there!
In January 2025, my father , Paul, died due to Parkinson's disease, so this seemed the perfect reason to run and the charity to support.
Parkinson’s is so much more than just the classic tremor that everyone associates with it. It affects both mind and body. It is frustrating and debilitating for the person affected by PD, but also very hard for those caring for them. I saw the effect of this in both my parents and in many other families affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
So, if you knew my wonderful father, Paul , or if you just know me, or someone who has suffered with Parkinson's and want to support, please click on the link below.
Thank you
