Story
In 2014, my eldest daughter Sophie was diagnosed with Crohns disease and since then she's been on a journey with her health.
Sophie has biannual colonoscopies, endoscopies, MRI scans, blood tests and CT scans. She travels up to Haywards Heath for 6 weekly infusions to receive a life saving immunosuppressant drug. She also takes various tablets daily. Crohns disease is an invisible disability. Symptoms include nausea, frequent toilet trips, anaemia, hair loss, skin rashes…. it really does affect the entire body.
London marathon isn’t just a run - it’s one of the world seven marathon majors. I’m running it for Crohns & Colitis UK, as it’s my opportunity to give back to the amazing charity that supported Sophie during her diagnosis and continues to spread awareness today.
There are many other young individuals like Sophie that are suffering, but the Crohns & Colitis charity helps patients feel less alone and funds research into better treatments - this is so crucial as there is currently no cure for Crohns disease.
Any donations and support are appreciated.
April 26th is the big day!
Thank-you so much 💜 🎗️
