Story
Last January, our colleague and friend, Dan Jewell, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a grade four brain tumour at the tender age of 51. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive and common malignant brain tumour in adults, with over 3,000 new diagnoses in the UK each year.
To support Dan and the organisations that have been pivotal to him and his family, my colleagues and I are setting out to raise a total of £153,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, The Brain Tumour Charity, and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity through an initiative we call Challenge51.
In June, despite being old, overweight and recovering from a recent foot operation, I am going to attempt to scale The Three Peaks in 24 hours alongside 28 younger and fitter colleagues. They may have to carry me.
Any contributions would be used wisely by the fabulous people at The Brain Tumour Charity.
