Story
In October 2025, I attended a Welsh selection camp for the 2027 World Scout jamboree in Poland. A few weeks later, to my surprise, I received a phone call to say that I’d been one of the scouts chosen to go.
The World Scout Jamboree is an event bringing together tens of thousands of young people from across the world. I am one of seven Scouts selected from CRAI District to attend. It is a real honour to represent our area at a global event like this.
My Scouting journey began when I was a Beaver, in Northwood, west London. It was there I met some great friends and always looked forward to the activities on offer. Camping, crate stacking, fishing in the river Pinn and car washing were just a few of the regular activities I took part in. I then went on to be a cub. At the end of my Cub journey, my family relocated to Wales and my cub leader in London contacted the scout leader in the town where i would be moving to.
I was kindly invited to join their scout meetings on Zoom and through this I found my first friends in Wales - before I’d even moved there. This made the transition so much easier and when I finally moved I felt that I had a ready made group of friends. This gave me the confidence to carry on my scouting journey. Since then I have been a scout and am now an Explorer. Since becoming a scout in Wales I have enjoyed activities such as sailing and archery, hammock making and driving.
I am very excited about going to the World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland and I’ll be representing Wales and CRAI District alongside thousands of Scouts from around the world. This isn’t just a trip — it’s a global event focused on friendship, culture, leadership and independence.
Attending the Jamboree comes with significant costs, and I’m working hard to raise the funds required. If you’re able to support me, I’d be incredibly grateful. The total cost of attending is £3,500. This covers travel, training camps, accommodation and the international programme itself. I'm aiming to raise at least half of that through this page, alongside events and challenges. Every donation helps move me closer to representing our community on the world stage.
Some of the fundraising activities that our group have organised and I will be taking part in over the next 118 months are…
* Running the Caerphilly 10K
* Climbing the height of Mount Everest with my unit
* Hosting curry and quiz nights
* Running a Master at Arms course
* Selling handmade wooden crafts
Your support isn’t just helping me travel - it’s helping me grow, represent my community, and bring everything I learn back to Scouting at home.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
