We help Scouts from Caerphilly, Rhymney and Islwyn access international experiences like the World Scout Jamboree. These opportunities build resilience, leadership and confidence beyond the campsite. Every donation helps ensure potential — not money — decides who takes part.

Story

This campaign is about opportunity.

In 2027, six Scouts and two adult leaders from our district will attend the World Scout Jamboree — a once-in-a-generation gathering of tens of thousands of young people from across the world.

They are young people from our communities.

For them, this is not just a trip abroad.

It’s a formative experience that will stretch them, challenge them and help shape the adults they become.

At the Jamboree, Scouts live and work alongside young people from different cultures, languages and backgrounds. They solve problems together. They learn to lead. They build friendships that last for years. It’s global citizenship in practice — not theory.

Each of our Scouts has grown through Scouting — in confidence, resilience, empathy and leadership. What they share is the courage to step forward and take on something bigger than themselves.

Attending comes with significant costs — travel, training camps, accommodation and equipment. Every Scout and leader is committed to fundraising and putting in the effort required.

But they can’t do it alone.

By supporting this campaign, you’re helping remove financial barriers and ensuring this opportunity is defined by potential — not circumstance.

You’re investing in young people who will return with broader horizons, stronger skills and a deeper understanding of the world — and who will bring that experience back into their schools, Scout groups and community.

The impact won’t stop in 2027. It will ripple outward for years.

Thank you for helping turn this opportunity into reality.

This is Scouting at its best: local roots, global reach, and lives changed along the way.
