We love our 2 donkeys Brenda and Blodwyn. They enjoy our company and doing different things with us. Some donkeys aren't as lucky as Brenda and Blodwyn and the charity "Safe Haven for Donkeys" has been looking after donkeys needing a bit more care over seas for the last 25 years.

Safe Haven for Donkeys works hard to look after donkeys, who are vital to the livelihoods of the families in these poorer countries, but who's families often can't manage to find them enough food, water, rest or veterinary help.

The charity has sanctuaries providing lifelong homes for over 200 donkeys, while mobile vet clinics reach working animals across 1000s of miles of rural towns and villages.

We, along with the Northern Donkey Breed Society, are celebrating 25years of the charity 'Safe Haven for Donkeys' work. As a family, we are going to try and complete 25 miles to mark the 25 years during the month of October by walking, bike riding and walking with our donkeys.
