The Donkey Breed Society, the UK’s national charity for donkey owners, is dedicated to safeguarding welfare, raising standards and promoting public understanding of these remarkable animals.

We are thrilled that the Society’s Northern Region is helping Safe Haven mark our 25th anniversary by inspiring everyone – donkey owners or not – to get moving in support of donkeys in desperate need across Israel, Egypt, the West Bank and Gaza.

Wherever you are in the UK, walk (with or without a donkey), run or cycle 25 miles between 25 September and 25 October. Complete the challenge your way: all at once, a few miles at a time or a mile a day – it’s entirely up to you!

Anyone raising over £50 will receive a free medal and there will be an opportunity to buy an event t-shirt.
