At the Ocean Community YMCA, a donation is never just a number. It’s a swim lesson, a safe place after school, a class that helps someone feel strong again, or a friendly face that turns a hard day around.

Last year, thousands of children, families, and older adults across our community relied on financial assistance to be part of the Y. They weren’t just seeking a membership — they were seeking stability, safety, and connection.

Some were parents working two jobs who found peace of mind knowing the Y was a safe place for their children after school — or a place where they themselves could take a moment to breathe and recharge while their kids were cared for in Child Watch.

Some were seniors living alone who needed more than exercise — they needed a place to move, laugh, build friendships, and feel seen.

Others were children who simply needed a safe, positive space to belong when the school day ended.

Stories like these happen every day at the Y, and they happen because of people like you.
