Story
On the 7th of April 2024, I will undertake the challenge of running the Sheffield Half Marathon in an effort to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. This is why I am dedicating my run to support the remarkable work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
At 13 years old, I experienced the loss of my uncle to cancer and witnessed the profound impact it had on those close to me. It was at this age that I committed to running a half marathon upon reaching the age of 19 to raise funds for this cause. Now, at the age of 20 (albeit one year behind schedule... whoopsie!), it is finally time to fulfill this promise.
This insidious disease touches the lives of many. It is likely that we all know someone who has faced this formidable opponent and are aware of the devastating impacts it can have. Macmillan Cancer Research provides crucial support to those living with cancer, as well as their families and loved ones. From funding groundbreaking research to offering practical and emotional assistance, Macmillan is present every step of the way.
I am mindful that running 13.1 miles presents a significant challenge, but it pales in comparison to the challenges faced by those battling cancer every day. By supporting Macmillan, we can ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated :)
Wish me luck!
