Support Housing Justice's London Destitution Fund

Meriel Davies is raising money for Housing Justice
Supporting people moving out of homelessness with a monthly "Destitution Payment" of £150. This payment helps people who have experienced homelessness buy essential items they need every single month.

Story

Please help me to raise £150, and maybe consider starting your own fundraiser with me!

Each £150 raised goes directly to someone (like Fana) who has no other income. It provides people the independence and self esteem we all need to flourish in life!

Fana (name changed) came to Housing Justice with no money or support. She survived by cleaning houses, caring for children, doing anything she could. People took advantage of her situation.

That all changed when Housing Justice offered Fana a place to live and £150 a month for essentials.

“That £150 changed everything. It gave me a little bit of confidence. It gave me choice. It meant I could pay for transport, buy a coffee, or buy food I could cook myself. It meant I could buy clothes from a charity shop, sanitary products, and other things I needed as a woman...“

Housing Justice is raising £1500 to support 10 people just like Fana. They can choose to spend the funds on things like food, feminine hygiene products and mobile phone top-ups. This gives them autonomy and control; helping people to survive with dignity, safety and independence.

With your help we WILL exceed this target, meaning we can support even more people.
