In July 2025, I experienced an unimaginable loss when I lost my Michael, who meant everything to me. Michael was a kind, funny and loving boyfriend - someone who lit up every room and his absence is felt deeply every day by everyone who knew him.

I am sharing Michael's story because mental health struggles are often invisible and too many lives are lost to suicide. To honour Michael’s memory, my best friend, Emily and I are raising funds for North Staffs & Cheshire Mind by taking part in the 'Mental Elf 5km Fun Run' on Sunday 7th December 2025 at Trentham Gardens to raise money and hopefully provide support, education and resources to prevent suicide and help those affected.
