Pathway Project are a charity supporting Victims of Domestic and Sexual Abuse. The charity provides support for Men, Women and Children who find themselves in an abusive relationship. The charity was set up 35 years ago by the founder Kathy Coe M.B.E. Kathy was herself a victim of Domestic Abuse not once but twice. She found there was no help for her and her children and started by setting up a 24 hour helpline on her bedroom. It became apparent very quickly that there was a need for a refuge to help victims escape the abuse and a one-bedroom refuge was opened.

The organisation has grown over the last 33 years to now have 2 Women’s refuge’s in Staffordshire and a house to give refuge to Men as well as an outreach team of support workers and counsellors helping people in the Community. Pathway Project supports people in the Lichfield, Tamworth, Burntwood and Rugeley areas.

Domestic Abuse takes many forms but can be defined as the following 5 types of recognised abuse:

- Physical

- Emotional

- Sexual

- Psychological

- Financial

Domestic Abuse can affect anyone no matter where you come from, what religion you are or how much money you have.

The team of expert workers can help people living with Domestic and Sexual Abuse to reduce the risk they and their children are in as well as help them to move on from the abuse. The team of counsellors will help people to deal with the trauma they have suffered at the hands of their abuser.

If you are suffering Domestic or Sexual Abuse Pathway Project can help please call the helpline on 01543 676 800.
