Story
On September 14th, my niece, dad, and I will be jumping from a plane!
Why? This year, my niece celebrates her 21st birthday in September, and my dad his 79th birthday. We are completing this skydive to celebrate my niece’s 'milestone' birthday, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, as this would not be possible without their support all those years ago.
21 years ago, when my niece was born, she and her parents (along with immediate family) spent months within the care of GOSH in London, who provided critical surgery and support, not just when my niece was born but throughout her life.
Not only my niece but many more years ago, my dad was also treated there when he was a child for his lungs, which again without their support then, this family would look very different today.
We want to celebrate, while raising as much money as we can for GOSH, as a charity that has supported our family, to give back.
(Yes, next time, a birthday meal will certainly suffice..)
Thank you for anything you can give, even if you have no personal links to the charity, the funds will be greatly received and utilised to give seriously ill children the best chance, and the best childhood, possible. Be part of it.
