Story

Please sponsor my Don’s Cycle Challenge!

I’m taking on the Don’s Cycle Challenge - a 50-mile ride from AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium to Stevenage FC’s Lamex Stadium.

Last year I cycled to Gillingham FC to raise money for AFC Wimbledon Foundation's Parkinson’s Walking Football.

Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world, and in the UK an estimated 153,000 people are living with the condition. While there is currently no cure, research shows that regular physical activity can help slow the progression of symptoms and improve mobility, balance, confidence and overall wellbeing.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters, the funds raised last year helped us grow a specialist Walking Football session designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions. The sessions have become much more than just football - they provide a welcoming environment where people can stay active, build friendships and support one another while living with the condition.

This year I’m taking on the challenge again, but this time I’m raising money for something even bigger.

The Foundation is developing a new Community Health and Wellbeing Hub at the stadium, which will expand our work supporting people with Parkinson’s and other long-term health conditions.

The hub will help us:

- Grow our Parkinson’s Walking Football programme

- Provide access to a specialist gym space where people with Parkinson’s can exercise safely with tailored support

- Deliver health and wellbeing programmes for people across our local community

By sponsoring my ride, you’re helping create a space where people can stay active, connected and supported while living with Parkinson’s and other health challenges. Every donation will make a real difference.

Thank you for your support.
