To all my friends and colleagues - I am taking on the Pilgrim's Reckoning challenge on 12th September: 81 miles in 24 hours around Bedfordshire !

I'm doing this to support HopeWorks UK, a local charity that works with people facing homelessness, displacement, isolation, poverty, and crisis.

Through practical support and encouragement, HopeWorks helps people restore dignity, rebuild stability, and realise a hopeful future.

The challenge feels especially fitting in Bedford. Centuries ago, John Bunyan walked these paths while writing Pilgrim's Progress – a story of struggle, perseverance, and hope. Today, those same themes still echo through our streets as many people face difficult journeys of their own.
