Story
As many of you may know, I’ve decided to take on the challenge of running the Shamrock Marathon this year (even though I swore I would never do another marathon after 2013). At 47, the training isn't getting any easier, but my motivation has never been stronger.
I’m running to support Bag’s Buddies, a charity founded in memory of Captain John "Bag" Hefti. "Bag" was a Navy legend and a beloved youth coach who believed that sports build character, leadership, and community. His motto was simple: "Play Hard, Have Fun, Same Team."
Bag’s Buddies ensures that financial barriers never stop a kid from playing. My goal of $1000 will go directly to paying registration fees, buying cleats, and funding scholarships for kids who need it most.
My legs might hurt and my knees already want a refund, but knowing we are helping future leaders get in the game makes every mile worth it. Please consider donating whatever you can to help me cross the finish line for them.
