On Tuesday 5th May, my mum and I are taking on a Firewalk to raise vital funds for Ashgate Hospice 🔥

As part of the events team at Ashgate, I’m usually the one encouraging others (including my mum!) to take on big challenges like skydives and marathons… so it felt only right that I step up myself, although I couldn’t resist bringing her along with me!

This cause is incredibly close to our hearts. In 2018, Ashgate Hospice cared for my Uncle Paul after he was diagnosed with MND. It was such a difficult time for our family, but the compassion, dignity, and support they showed, not just to him but to all of us, was truly amazing.

What many people don’t realise is that Ashgate Hospice only receives around a third of its funding from NHS budgets. The rest has to be raised through donations and support from the community. That means every single contribution really does make a difference, and it’s why we’ll always stand up and push for fairer funding for hospices across the UK.
