Story
A small group from Southwell Young Farmers are going to walk the length of Nottinghamshire across 3 days starting on the 21st August to help raise valuable funds for these incredible people.
I went to school with JoJo and live just down the road from the Wells family. Having grown up with them, I’ve watched these incredible humans fight for their lives and now they are fighting for their futures. Both JoJo and Rachael have deteriorated through the years with Rachael now completely reliant on her parents and machines to keep her alive. They have a massive goal to reach £450,000 by June 2027 in order to get this life changing treatment. This family have fought so hard for so long and they deserve all the help they can get.
Nottinghamshire has a population of approximately 1.2 million people so if everyone in Nottinghamshire donated just 50p we would reach the goal tomorrow.
We are hoping to raise awareness and money to help reach the urgent goal. Whether you’re a company who can donate supplies to aid us on our walk or you’re able to donates some money. Whether it’s 50p or £500, every penny helps towards the goal! Let’s work together as a community (in a true young farmers fashion) to help make a difference!
I’m fundraising to support More Tomorrows for Mito, a campaign helping fund urgent gene therapy research for families living with RRM2B mitochondrial disease.
This cruel, progressive disease slowly takes away strength, independence and everyday freedoms, and families are still being told there is no cure.
The Charlie Gard Foundation is supporting families affected by RRM2B mitochondrial disease to help fund urgently needed pre-clinical gene therapy research for Emily, Rachael and JoJo, while also helping drive future progress for other families affected by this devastating condition around the world.
Please help me support this important cause.
Every donation helps bring hope for more birthdays, more memories and more tomorrows for families living with RRM2B mitochondrial disease.
