Story
Support Our Ride for CALM: Edinburgh to Lewes for Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention, in memory of our dear friends Finn & Matt.
On 18 April 2025, seven of us are cycling roughly 600 miles from Edinburgh to Lewes in Sussex. We'll be doing this unsupported on five bicycles and a 1980’s steel tandem that we bought off eBay for £150 which we'll be rotating between the seven of us to spice things up, and will be camping at night in the unpredictable Scottish and English weather, with all our gear carried on our bikes.
We are raising funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). CALM works tirelessly to prevent suicide and support those facing mental health struggles in the UK.
This journey is a tribute to our friends, Finn and Matt, who both tragically lost their lives to suicide—Matt in 2013 and Finn in late 2023. We want to honour their memory by supporting a cause that provides hope and help to those who need it most.
Every single day, 18 people in the UK die by suicide, with men making up around 75% of those tragic losses. CALM is committed to lowering this number by offering essential support, spreading awareness, and tackling stigma around suicide.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in helping CALM continue their vital work. Join us on this journey to bring hope to those struggling in silence.
