Story

The Kingston team is planning to join the #TeamMND in the 28km Thames Path Challenge from Putney to Hampton on 13th September to raise funds and awareness for MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association)

What is MND?

MND is the short term for motor neurone disease, which affects the nerves known as motor neurones. These nerves are found in the brain and spinal cord, and they help tell your muscles what to do.

There are several forms of motor neurone disease (MND) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the most common form or type of the disease. In the UK we use motor neurone disease (MND) as an umbrella term to cover all forms of the disease. In the USA, they use ALS as the umbrella term.

We want to take on this challenge and walk in loving memory of our Kingston colleague and friend, Marco Ziegler, who suffered from motor neurone disease and passed away on 6th April 2024. Though gone but not forgotten, his kindness, dedication, and spirit touched so many of us.

This walk is more than just a journey, it’s a way to celebrate his life, honour the legacy he left behind, and support a cause close to our hearts.

All funds raised will be donated to MNDA, a cause that reflects the values and compassion Marco lived by every day.

We invite you to support this meaningful event by making a donation. Every contribution, big or small, helps us make a positive difference and keeps Marco’s memory alive in the most impactful way.

Please donate what you can & help find a cure for this disease.
