Story
Week 4 update:
Today, 31st October, Olivia has just walked her final 2km! So incredibly proud of her commitment and determination and so grateful for everyone who donated!
Week 3 update:
Can’t believe we’ve exceeded our fundraising target all in aid of Sofia’s new wheels! Thank you all so so much! Olivia has covered 70km so still on track and more determined than ever to reach 100km! The last week has been more school mile laps, park runs and cycling to get her to her target!
Week 2 update:
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. Olivia is up to 50km!! She covered a lot of distance this weekend making the most of the dry weather! We walked from New Mills to Marple, did a park run and a long bike ride! Plenty more planned for the weeks ahead and on track to hit the 100km! Well done Olivia, keep going!
Week 1 update:
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! After week 1 Olivia has managed 12km by doing the mile lap at school with her friends, walking, riding and swimming. The weather meant we had to cancel a few walks we had planned but plenty more plans over the coming weeks to get our steps in!
My daughter, Olivia, aged 8, will be taking part in a challenge during the month of October to raise money for her friend Sofia who has Celebral Palsy.
Sofia is rapidly growing out of her current wheelchairs and requires a new wheelchair to give her more freedom and independence. You can read more about Sofia’s story and this campaign by clicking on ‘Every Step for Sofia’.
Throughout the month of October, Olivia will be walking/running/cycling/scooting/swimming 100km to help raise money for this amazing cause! Olivia and Sofia have been friends since nursery, and when I asked Olivia about taking on the challenge there was no question! She would do anything to help her friend!
Olivia has been coming up with her own ideas to get her steps in, and we will post photos and updates on her progress throughout the month!
In Olivia’s words Sofia is ‘brave, funny, kind and a good friend’.
Any donations would be hugely appreciated!
