Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge 2025 · 21 June 2025 to 22 June 2025 ·
At mile 18 of the Liverpool marathon when I was having a good cry about how much pain I was in and what a stupid idea running a marathon was, I swore to myself I would NEVER do a marathon again! I swore quite a few times when I had to complete my training runs, I also swore A LOT the day after the marathon, mostly when I needed to move my legs!
Then I remembered that…
a) my mother taught me not to swear
b) accomplishing something unpleasant gives an immense amount of satisfaction
c) doing crazy stuff can raise money for excellent causes
For those of you who do not know, one of my best friends, Katie, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour…twice. She has undergone surgery twice, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40. For this reason, I have decided to raise money for Brain Tumour Research by running/walking/staggering/maybe even crawling 100km (that's further than 2 marathon distances!) around the beautiful Cotswold Way on the 21st June!
I have no doubt there will be tears, I have no doubts that there may be several days of swearing, but if it helps to raise money for an extremely worthy cause I will be very grateful.
Any support, financial for the cause or as a cheerleader on my journey, would be very much appreciated. X❤️X
