Lake District Challenge · 29 July 2023

On July 29th 2023 we are taking on three of the Lake Districts finest peaks to raise money and awareness about bowel cancer in young adults.

Story

Myself and a small but mighty team are doing a Lake District Trek on July 29th this year. Each of us have been affected by Bowel Cancer in some way.

We are raising money for The Bowel Movement, a charity that supports people after a bowel cancer diagnosis and tirelessly work to raise awareness of bowel cancer, particularly in the young as so many of us have been deeply let down by being told we were too young to have cancer.

Each year over 2600 young individuals are diagnosed with bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and accounts for the second highest number of cancer related deaths per year. We know that early detection and diagnosis is vital, and that bowel cancer is highly treatable and even curable if caught early.

The Bowel Movement seeks to educate people about the key signs and symptoms of bowel and colorectal cancers to ensure that every individual faced with bowel cancer has the best possible chance of survival.

I would love it if you could spare some money to donate to this incredible cause! Thank you so much in advance!
