Story
Whilst the Ashgate sparkle walk is no charity marathon, it is a cause that I hold incredibly close to my heart. When I was 12 my mum was sadly diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, and it was Ashgate hospice who helped to care for her in her last few months of her life. It’s no secret that Ashgate hospice has been struggling with the recent funding cuts. So it would mean so much if anyone could spare a few pounds to keep the much needed end of life care beds open to people who need it, just like my mum did.
So no, I’m not asking you to sponsor me for doing something remarkable (such as running 26 miles…maybe one for another year 🥴) it’s walking, on a summer night, probably dressed in pink, likely with fluffy bunny ears, for a cause that means so much to me, and who was there for my mum when it truly mattered.
“Come together to sparkle in support of Ashgate Hospice on Saturday 27 June 2026. Help raise money to help the hospice continue providing specialist care to patients and those important to them”.
