Story
I am excited to be joining The Haemophilia Society’s team to run The London Marathon in April in aid of my brother Jordan 🏃🏼♀️
My brother has a rare genetic disorder called Congenital hypofibrinogenemia which in simple terms means that he can’t clot blood. While he has never let this stop him from doing anything, he is on treatment for the rest of his life. The Haemophilia Society have been with us every step of the way growing up by organising fun days so we could have some normality in between hospital visits. They have always provided assistance to us for a condition that not much was known about in 1998.
The advancements in treatment since then have been incredible and it’s all thanks to this charity for putting their members first. Through the Haemophilia Society we have met other haemophiliacs who have shared their experiences with us and provided vital tips.
I am incredibly proud of my brother and how he has navigated life with his condition and hope by raising money that others can live just as well.
I will be running 26.2 miles for Jordan and the thousands of others affected by blood disorders to raise money for a charity close to my heart.
The Haemophilia Society are the only UK-wide charity for those with bleeding disorders and their families. They are constantly campaigning for better awareness and care for those with these disorders.
I’m looking forward to getting into my training and I have a huge support system behind me to make sure I’m doing my best.
