Story
Quinn & Arthur will be participating in the Teddy Toddle 2026 to raise funds to support TOFS charity.
In 2024, Arthur was born with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula and Oesophageal Atresia (TOF/OA) which are rare congenital conditions.
In OA, a baby's food pipe (oesophagus) ends in a blind pouch and does not connect to the stomach. In TOF, the food pipe abnormally connects to the windpipe (trachea)
Both conditions usually occur together, though they can happen independently. Oesophageal Atresia (OA): Food cannot reach the stomach; babies are unable to swallow saliva, which leads to drooling and choking. Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF): The connection allows stomach acids or milk to enter the lungs (causing damage) and air to enter the stomach (causing bloating).
Arthur has undergone 6 surgeries so far in under 2 years, and is still on a very limited food diet.
While surgery is life-saving, survivors may experience lifelong challenges like narrowing of the food pipe, feeding difficulties, and a specific "TOF cough" caused by a softer-than-usual windpipe.
