I am raising money for Jewish Child's Day during my Bar Mitzvah year. More specifically I am raising money to fly over my "twin" Moriel for the trip of a lifetime to London.

Moriel comes from Talpiot Youth Village, which supports 200 children and provides services to hundreds more, aged between 5-18. Most of the children at Talpiot have experienced neglect or abuse in their homes. Talpiot acts swiftly to restore calm and normalcy to their lives by establishing a stable, supportive and sensitive environment. The children are placed in one of ten residential care units run by care-giving foster families who provide the love, attention and support the children deserve but have often been denied.

As part of my bar mitzvah programme at Stanmore synagogue, we have officially partnered with Moriel's village through our friends at Jewish Child’s Day. As part of this twinning programme in September we plan to fly our twins and their carers over to London for an unforgettable trip! I have been twinned with Moriel, we are already emailing each other and have met online, and I cannot wait to meet him in person, show him the sights and celebrate Shabbat with him.

How can you help?

In August I am taking on a London underground challenge with my friend George, where we plan to visit as many Tube stations as possible in 6 hours! We will take a photo of the sign at every stop.

I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me EITHER by donating a single sum here OR (much more fun...!) letting me know (by WhatsApp) a pledge of how much you would like to sponsor PER STATION. To prepare your wallets, we think we might manage about 111 if we really stick to the plan and make all the changes efficiently without getting lost!

What is Jewish Child’s Day?

Jewish Child’s Day (JCD) is the UK’s leading grant giving Jewish charity. They have been transforming lives of children in need around the world for 76 years, which is much much older than us! Each year, over 25,000 Jewish children rely upon on them to save them from deprivation, disadvantage, abuse and neglect. JCD works closely with organisations around the world to understand where there are funding requirements and to ensure the grants they award support the children and young people whom need it most, in the most direct manner.
