I’ve signed up to a running event with a difference, called Escape From Meriden. It’s a 24 hour, run as far as you can in any direction event! 500 participants will literally head off in all directions!

Meriden (near Coventry) is considered the most central place in England. My aim is to get to London. Trafalgar Square will be 100 miles of running, so just under 4 consecutive marathons. If I can, I’ll push on to 105 miles to make it the full 4 marathons.

The race is completely unsupported, so I’ll be relying on service stations along the A45 and the A5 for food, hot drinks and loos etc.

In case this all sounds a little too easy, its starts at midnight, oh and it’s on Friday 13th November. What could possibly go wrong?

My longest run when signing up was the London Marathon 2025 at 42.2km this year I've continued training and my longest run so far is 45km, however on August 15th I'm tackling the 100km Foxton Hound Ultra Marathon as the next step in my training for Escape From Meriden.

Those that know me, will be well aware that I’ve supported Animals In Need for many years now. Our Border Collie Alfie and or Tortoise Sheldon were both adopted from the sanctuary and I provide training and behaviour support to newly adopted dogs as well as fundraising through the weekly dog and puppy walks in Northampton.

Taking part in the event has been fully funded by myself, so every £ donated will go directly to Animals In Need, helping them to continue their incredible and essential work caring for all animals including, pets, wildlife, and farm animals!

Maybe I’ll fail, but maybe I’ll succeed. One thing is for sure, the more donations, the more drive I’ll have to push on!
