Story

On Saturday 21st June, a group of us (Tariq, Mohsin, Khuram, Asjad, Ibrar, Amer, Manzar, Ibrahim, Khawer, Mudassar and Zahid) will be taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge — aiming to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon within 24 hours, Insha'Allah (God willing). We're undertaking this challenge to raise funds for three causes that are very close to our hearts, with all donations being split equally between them.

Firstly, we want to support water aid projects around the world — bringing clean, safe drinking water to communities who currently live without this basic necessity.

Secondly, we are helping to fund a vital local project: the building of the first purpose-built Masjid for the people of Barnoldswick — a place for learning, support, and spirituality for generations to come.

Finally, we are raising funds for urgent food aid in Gaza, where families are facing unimaginable hardship each day. Due to the current aid blockade, food packs are not being allowed into Gaza — leaving thousands of families in urgent need with no access to basic supplies. The humanitarian crisis is worsening by the day, and the need for support continues to grow. As soon as the borders reopen and aid is permitted through, the funds raised will be used immediately to provide food packs to those most in need. Your support now ensures that we are ready to act the moment access is granted.

This journey is more than a challenge — it is a tribute, a prayer, a walk through memory and love. We climb in the memory of those loved ones who are not with us anymore.

Kashaf Ahmed, our beloved brother, whose light left this world ten years ago but continues to shine in our hearts.

Imran Ahmed, our dear cousin, whose gentle spirit we lost four years ago, but who is with us in every step.

Asad Siddiq, our cherished nephew, who we lost 6 years ago and who is still with us in our hearts everyday.

Parveen Akhtar, a devoted mother whose recent passing has left a space we carry with reverence and love.

Niqash Saeed, our young cousin from Nelson, taken far too soon in 2023 — a bright star whose legacy has sparked a movement of hope.

In their memory, we walk — with purpose, with love, and with the unshakable belief that even in loss, we can build something beautiful.

From the training trails to the final summit, we will be sharing regular updates — not just about the physical challenge, but about our emotional journey too. Grief is something that touches every life, yet often remains unspoken. By opening our hearts and sharing our stories — the highs, the lows, the healing — we hope to offer comfort and solidarity to others navigating their own paths through loss.

We’re proud to be working alongside The NK Foundation, an organisation born from the tragic loss of Niqash Saeed. Their mission — to turn grief into hope through acts of charity — mirrors the values we hold close, and we are honoured to partner with them on this journey.

Because this challenge is not only about climbing mountains. It’s about remembering those we love, uplifting those in need, and proving that even in our darkest moments, hope, compassion, and community can rise.

Thank you for supporting us. Your donations, prayers, and kind words mean more than we can ever express.
