I am taking part in the annual Ride + Stride event, a fun day of cycling around Sussex and visiting some of its historic churches and chapels, whilst raising money for both my local church, St Peter's in Cowfold, and the Sussex Historic Churches Trust.

Why do historic buildings need grants?

Many historic churches, chapels and meeting houses are battling to survive. Roofs leak, ancient timbers rot and medieval stonework crumbles.
