Story

When i ran in 2021 George was still in the beginning of his journey. I'm not going to detail what he (and the family) have been through, words just aren't enough to explain that, but what he has done is face each and every challenge with bravery that is beyond what any 4/5/6/7 year old should ever face. Whilst the visible effects of his cancer treatment have largely receded, it is still very much at the forefront of our minds and we still have just over 4.5 years before he is finally signed off! Each day there is a feeling that today could be the day "it" returns, and whilst those feelings are more easily controlled as time goes on, its still an uncomfortable position to be in!

We are fortunate enough to have continued support from the nurses, doctors, consultants and charities that have been with us through these last few years and we are externally grateful for that help. I'm running as I don't want other children to experience what George has had to, nor for the parents to have to watch helplessly as their child has to endure what no child should. So please, whatever you can afford to contribute will be so appreciated and so wisely spent!

Our vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer.

For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.

Our work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for patients.
