I only pledged to run the London Marathon once...however life has a habit of throwing you curveballs and we certainly had one on 2nd March 2020 when George was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on 2nd March 2020 and over the last 3 years has undergone treatment to cure this disease. On 23rd June 2023 he took his last chemotherapy tablet and rang the bell on 2nd August. This marathon is to say a final thank you to all the people who have helped us, some of whom we have never met or spoken to but helped create the treatment plan that George went through, as well as raising funds to help with continued research to ensure children in the future have the best possible chance of beating this disease.

I am also looking to raise funds for a very good friend of ours who was initially diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2022 and has been undergoing treatment ever since. Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all cancers with 80% diagnosed too late and 76% sadly not making it to the anniversary of their diagnosis. Unfortunately for our friend the cancer has spread to his brain and so his fight goes on.
