Story
Adriaan: “Although I’ve loved doing Parkrun most weeks (5K), I never considered running a marathon. Why would you put yourself through something so extreme and painful? Until I started working for Child of Hope and discovered how much need there is among children living in the slums of Mbale, Uganda.
Suddenly, taking on this challenge made sense. I want to raise money for these amazing children and their families and help give them a better future.
I know £5,000 is a lot of money to raise, but I hope many people will get behind mr, donate and help us get as close to our target as possible.
And… I’m not doing it alone!
Micah, an ex-paratrooper with marathon experience, has joined me [check out this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/58VdjxEqJnk?feature=share ]
The biggest challenge for Micah might not be the physical aspect, but finding time to put in the miles between work and changing nappies. He only became dad last May!
About our goal. What can Child of Hope do with £5000?
- Bring 30 mothers in our 2027 IGA programme where they get training and a some capital to start a small businesses
- Buy 20 tablets for secondary students so they can have access to the Internet and do research in class.
- Support the food programme ensuring more children receive a much-needed lunch at school.
- All what is left is going to help us with covering essential running costs in 2026.
So please consider donating because every little and big contribution makes a difference. Thank you 💛
