Story
Being diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 15 was a huge pivotal moment in my life. 4 Operations, 10+ Colonoscopies and countless medications later, I have found myself in half decent health and in a much more positive state of mind.
I always wanted to raise money for Crohn's and Colitis UK but nothing really fit the bill for me. I wasn't going to climb Mount Everest or jump out of a plane; my everyday life has me sh*tting myself enough. This is why I'll be doing something a bit different to raise the cash... STAND UP.
Comedy has been a god send for me in dealing with the disease and all of the impacts it has on my life. Genuinely, if it wasn't for my sense of humour, I don't think I would have been able to pick myself up and plough on. Anyway, I'm going to give this a go and I hope you will all be able to come along or donate some cash for a good cause. All the best and goodnight.
Who are Crohn's and Colitis UK?
We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis.
Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. And the real number could be almost double that.
Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence.
But they’re not alone.
We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.
