Tessa will be walking 61k for the 61% of people in Britain who are suffering with negative body image. Money raised will enable Been There charity to provide 1:1 peer support to hundreds more people with body image issues.

Story

This year I have decided to challenge myself in order to raise money to support people experiencing body image issues and eating disorders.

Been There is a remote charity providing 1:1 peer Mentoring support from a lived experience Mentor. Mentors walk alongside their Mentee with a deep empathy and understanding of the challenges that they are facing because they have Been There too.

4/5 people in the UK claim their body image has negatively affected their mental health.1/8 have experienced suicidal thoughts because of poor body image. Anorexia nervosa is the deadliest mental illness in the UK and most of its victims claim their own lives.

It costs £260 to support one Mentor through a complete Mentoring programme.

By sponsoring my challenge, you can help me to improve the health and happiness of so many more Mentees who urgently need compassionate support.
